As e-commerce is a relatively new field, it is impossible for any association to have been in this field for any significant length of time. With this in mind, new and growing fields of study and practice should be given the opportunity to grow and flourish without government interference. GAM  claims no government sanction or alliance. GAM  has formed legal relationships with professors, college organizations, university groups and independent training associations and facilities. As accreditation is generally not operated by any government body, The GAM  is self governing and our members and certified members are self governing through our regulations, ethics, and continuing education, and standards much like lawyers, accountants, or financial planners.
